Erdas est un endroit qui dépend de l'équilibre entre le monde humain et le monde animal. Seuls, Conor, Abéké, Meilin et Rollan ont reçu le privilège d'entretenir un lien avec un animal totem issu de l'autre monde. Ces relations leur confèrent d'énormes pouvoirs et de lourdes responsabilités.

Lorsque les Conqu��rants envahissent ville après ville, Meilin et son panda Jhi quittent les Cape-Vertes et s'enfuient vers le territoire ennemi en espérant y trouver le père de Meilin.

Ses amis la poursuivent, mais ils ne sont pas les seuls... l'ennemi est partout.
