Douce Mousse MD sunscreen is a physical (or organic) protection and remains on the skin's surface, unlike protections using chemical filters that penetrate the epidermis. Many people have mistakenly believed they had a reaction to the sun, when their reaction was actually due to their sunscreen containing chemical filters. Moreover, most of these lotions are very polluting for the environment.
Description
The new premium sun protection Douce Mousse in 7 essential points
1- 100% natural physical sunscreen
Douce Mousse MD sunscreen is a physical (or organic) protection and remains on the skin's surface, unlike protections using chemical filters that penetrate the epidermis. Many people have mistakenly believed they had a reaction to the sun, when their reaction was actually due to their sunscreen containing chemical filters. Moreover, most of these lotions are very polluting for the environment.
No Compromise: List of ingredients that we do not use that are found in most chemical filters: Oxybenzone, Octisalate, Octinoxate, Avobenzone, (Parsol), Octyl Methoxycinnamate, PABA, Benzophenone, 2-Ethylhexyl-4-Dimethylaminobenzoic acid… Other ingredients that we do not use and that may be found this time in physical filters: Polysorbate 20, Synthetic perfume or fragrance, PEG, Paraben, Phenoxyethalnol, Titanium dioxide…
2- Natural and organic ingredients
All ingredients in Douce Mousse MD sunscreen meet the highest standards for natural and organic formulations. (pesticide-free, renewable, and biodegradable) Key ingredients: Organic Jojoba Oil: One of the Aztec people's favorite ingredients, jojoba oil is moisturizing and humectant and suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Organic Shea Butter: Used in Africa for thousands of years, this ingredient is very moisturizing and softens the skin. Organic Sunflower Oil from Quebec: Rich in vitamin E, very moisturizing and softening. Buriti Oil: Directly from the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, very rich in carotenoids, antioxidant, and photoprotective. Prevents sun damage and gives a beautiful beige-orange color to our sunscreen lotion. Zinc Oxide: A natural ingredient that is very effective in protecting from the sun. Becomes transparent upon application when added to a quality formulation.
3- No nanoparticles
Almost all sunscreens that use chemical filters are absorbed through our children's skin. However, even natural ingredients like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide can contain nanoparticles, which are too small to remain on the skin's surface. Look for products labeled "no nanoparticles."
4- High Protection with SPF 30+
An SPF of 30 is an excellent choice and sufficient for sun protection. Our sunscreen displays 30+ because the results obtained by an independent certified laboratory were higher than an SPF of 30. What is SPF? The protection index is the SPF (Sun Protection Factor). This index mainly measures the duration of your sun protection after application. We multiply the SPF by 10 minutes, which is equivalent to 300 minutes, or 5 hours for an SPF of 30. Your dermatologist recommends an SPF of 75? Tell him that no product can display an SPF higher than 50 according to the new FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations, which have jurisdiction in Canada. An SPF of 75 will not offer your child better protection. Many consumers mistakenly believed that an SPF of 50 provided twice the protection of an SPF of 25. Duration alone is a significant factor. In the marketing frenzy for sunscreens, some manufacturers are taking advantage of consumer confusion and offering SPFs of 90 and even 100.
5- Approved by Health Canada
To be sold in Canada, all sunscreen products must have an NPN or DIN number assigned by Health Canada. Our sunscreen has an NPN (Natural Product Number) because it does not contain chemical filters, which are assigned a DIN number. Note that Health Canada refers to the FDA (United States) regulations for the approval of sunscreens for sale in Canada.
6- No superfluous praiseworthy mentions
Many positive claims are disputed because, in many cases, they give consumers a false sense of security. For our sunscreen, we only use claims permitted by Health Canada and those for our organic ingredients, which are verified by the independent organization Québec Vrai.
Water resistant: The terms "water resistant" or "water repellent" will no longer be able to be used. Manufacturers will simply have to specify the duration, either 40 or 80 minutes, for which their products protect in water or against sweat according to standard tests. With these very short time limits, you must be vigilant and carry out more than one application during water play, regardless of the label on the product.
Approved by professional associations : Many products are recognized or approved by various professional associations. Note that in most cases, the manufacturer simply has to pay a fee to the association and meet a few conditions. Many products bearing this designation have not been tested.
Hypoallergenic: All sunscreens, whether physical or chemical, even those labeled hypoallergenic, should always be subject to a small patch test. Applying a small amount to the inside of an arm or calf and observing the skin after a few hours will, in most cases, give you your answer. Re-examine the affected area after 48 hours to confirm the result.
