Why is this book special:
• This category of books has been historically built on the gender binary. This does a disservice to all kids because it reinforces the shame and secrecy around topics like menstruation. And it especially does harm to gender diverse kids because they don’t see themselves as being understood by this binary conversation. Our book helps demystify puberty for all kids and supports gender diverse kids with a discussion that includes every body. 
• Two of the coauthors are nationally recognized experts on teaching kids about puberty. And the third coauthor is one of the champions of LGBTQ+ kids’ rights within the AAP.
• Although we don’t want this book pigeon-holed as a book only for LGBTQ+ kids, the inclusive nature of this title is very important to us on a mission level.
