*The cap can't be posted at the back of the barrel while writing*
EF / F / M / B nibs
*The individual nib sets from the original VAC 700 pen will NOT work on the VAC 700R. Only the VAC 700R nib sets will go along with the VAC 700R fountain pen.*
The TWSBI VAC 700R comes with a vacuum filler mechanism.
The VAC 700 has been updated to now be called the VAC 700R. TWSBI made small updates to the internal of the pen valving. The old VAC 700 used to have two small valves. Now, it has only one large valve. The bottom of the grip/feeder section has also been enlarged and tapered more drastically. They found by doing these two adjustments that the flow of ink of the pen, when the end cap is open, increased a small percentage.
Simply pull up, push down and your ink is filled, ready to go.
Also designed with an ink shut off valve for easy carry and no spill mess.
For 'vacuum filler' fountain pens, the tip at the back (the piston knob) must always be unscrewed slightly to let the ink flow through when you write for a long time. Therefore, when the piston knob is completely screwed in, the rubber piece at the end of the metal rod inside seals the reservoir of the nib and prevents the ink from flowing to the end of it (recommended during transport or when the fountain pen is not in use).
Comes with a small vial of silicone grease and a wrench for disassembly.
Go see in the 'Specifications' section below the PDF file to discover the differences between the VAC 700 and VAC 700R.
