The Stone of Sorrow

The Stone of Sorrow follows an apprentice runecaster who must make a perilous journey to the site of an ancient runecasting competition to win back a magical gemstone.  This book explores themes of female empowerment, facing your fears, the acceptance and support of self and others, and the corruption of power.  This book demonstrates incidental diversity with a F/F couple and nonbinary key character.  The author is Icelandic Canadian and studied Scandinavian and Icelandic literature during her undergrad and began workshopping this epic saga while doing her MFA at the University of British Columbia under the tutelage of Susan Juby.  This book is the first in the Runecaster series, with book two coming in Spring 2021.
