The Doll

- Nhung N. Tran-Davies was inspired to write this book by her own experience of coming to Canada as a refugee from Vietnam as a child. She was given a doll, and as an adult she had the chance to pass on that act of kindness to a Syrian refugee family - In 2013 Nhung founded the Children of Vietnam Benevolent Foundation. She spoke at the UN's International Organization on Migration in Geneva as part of their "I am a Migrant" campaign to help reduce hate speech and promote tolerance. - Print and online advertising campaigns. - Promotion at national and regional school, library and trade conferences, either in person or virtual. - Including SLJ Day of Dialogue (Oct. 2020) which will be attended by thousands online. - Extensive ARC distribution, advance e-galleys. - Digital galleys will be available on NetGalley and Edelweiss.
