Suddenly you become concerned that you did not get a good enough deal on the car you just bought. #3 Reassurance can be helpful and informative, but it can also be destructive and non-informative. productive reassurance helps you resolve or live with uncertainty, while non-productive reassurance just raises new questions and doubts. #4 Productive and unproductive reassurance are two different things. Productive reassurance helps you make the best guess while remaining uncertain, while unproductive reassurance attempts to reduce anxiety and discomfort. It allows you to pretend and feel the relief of imagined certainty for a little while.
