How we brought this color to life:
Using a new electrolytic coloring technology, we were able to bring a beautiful deep black color to life, while also keeping the metallic nature of the material. Different from plating or paint application, this technology involves developing an ultrathin black oxide layer on the surface of the material, leveraging light interference for color recognition. Therefore, there is no concern of peeling, and it others durability and weatherability, as the material itself takes on the color. With the metallic nature intact, a highly durable, functional and stylish black design that does not fade was made possible.

* Attention: Please note the nib on this fountain pen is specially ion-plated to give the unique color. Only Sailor inks should be used with this fountain pen to avoid damage to the nib plating.
Any damage to the nib caused by the use of other branded inks, will not be covered under the Sailor standard warranty.
21K gold is more flexible than 14K and 18K gold which are commonly used in fountain pen nibs, so even when heavy writing pressure is applied, the slit in the nib will not open up, better preventing the ink from drying out.
