It's Me, Henry offers a gentle introduction to a neurodivergent character. The French edition, Laurent, c’est moi!, was a finalist for the Governor General’s Award in 2019, the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Award in 2020 and the Harry Black Award in 2020. The author has a stepson on the spectrum and is a child psychologist, often speaking to educators about autism spectrum disorder. Geneviève Després has been nominated for and has won numerous awards, including Forest of Reading Le prix Peuplier, the Baker Street Award, the Québec/Wallonie-Bruxelles Award and the Applied Arts Award for illustration. She is the illustrator of Best Friend Trouble (Orca). Autism Awareness month is April.
