Strict new rules at Brayside Retirement Home make it hard for West Highland Terrier Harvey to continue his important role as comfort dog. Meanwhile, Harvey’s owner Maggie struggles with being the understudy for the school play, his friend Austin faces shame over money troubles, and retirement home resident Bob Kowalski begins to feel lonely and anxious as his wife is in the hospital.
