Ghost of the Mill House

Based on an actual mill in an Oregon State Park, which is believed to be haunted by a homesteader who had land beside the mill and died of suspicious causes. The author lived at this historic state park and renovated the house. Many of the adventures the kids have also happened to the author. Margriet Ruurs's Stepping Stones: A Refugee Family’s Journey was the winner of the 2017 Bolen Books Children’s Book Prize and a Kirkus Reviews Best Books selection in 2016.
