Cold Snap

Charlotte is pulled into a dangerous international plot when her boss provides shelter to a Jewish relative fleeing Germany. Further complicating the plot is the return of Charlotte’s estranged mother, seeking her help to find a child she gave up at birth.

The first two Paradise Café books laid the groundwork for Cold Snap to delve further into Charlotte’s past than ever before. We finally have a window into Charlotte’s childhood and can see what made her into the strong, independent woman she is.

Author of the ever-popular Murdoch series, adapted to television for the CBC and has been on the air since 2008.

Jennings is finally getting to write the women characters she’s been unable to in her previous series. The Paradise Café features a new detective, Charlotte Frayne – a woman private investigator – in Toronto in 1936-37.
